What is LiveExperts.tv?

LiveExperts.tv is an online marketplace that connects independent experts who provide information and knowledge for free or for a fee via real-time video chat, text chat, phone and/or email with those in need of advice. Clients seek assistance and advice in various categories including personal counselling and coaching, computers and programming, health and medicine, education and tutoring, shopping, professional, development, spirituality and religion, business and finance, arts and creative services, legal services, home and leisure, and other topics. It also serves as a great way for those that have expertise in certain domains to generate extra income and/or leads for their own services.

What is a Video Chat with an Expert?

The expert has a camera set up on their end. When you log in to the chat, you can see the expert in real time. The expert also has a microphone, so if you have a camera on your computer and a microphone you can chat back and forth. You may choose to have your camera off, so you will see the expert but the expert will not see you. Video Chat sessions begin with 3 minutes FREE.

If I’m an expert, how much do I get paid and when?

Experts get paid on a Monthly, net 30 basis via Paypal or check. Experts take home 55% of their pay rate. So if an expert is charging $1.00/minute, they take home $.55/minute. The remaining funds are used to cover bandwidth and other company expenses. Clients also fund their accounts in advance, so payment is guaranteed. In order to ensure experts are qualified for the client, expert also will give the first 3 minutes free for all consultations. All experts should have a PayPal account to be paid expeditiously. If you don’t have one, go to www.paypal.com and get an account – it’s easy!

What if I forgot my password?

Go to the login screen and you’ll see the forgot password link. Click on the link and insert your email address. Your password will be sent there.

How do I change my Password?

After you login, go to your Profile by clicking your username at the top of the page, and you can change your password there.

How do I find the right Expert to talk to?

Go to the home page, browse through the categories to find the ones that fit your needs. Once you go to the category of your choice, you can read about the expert on their profiles. You can also see reviews of that particular expert. We also provide 3 minutes free with every expert to ensure they’re right for you. Sometimes experts are not logged in, but you can make an appointment or call them if they accept phone calls.

What if I can’t find the right expert to speak with?

What if the expert can’t answer my question?

LiveExperts.tv provides the 3 minutes free for all chat communications. This way you’ll know up front if the expert is right for you so that you won’t spend money trying to determine if he/she is the appropriate expert. If you are dissatisfied with the expert’s service, please contact us.

How do I Rate an Expert?

On the Expert's profile page, at the bottom you will find a “Write Comment” section. Underneath this section, there is a drop down menu with star ratings, from 1-5, 5 being the highest rank. Please don’t write anything that is derogatory or malicious.

Can I get the transcripts or recordings of my sessions?

After you login, on the top right hand side the page shows your username. Click on your username and it will take you to your Account Information. On the second line of the table you have Account History, which will give you the date you spoke to an expert, whom you spoke with, whether it was a video chat, live chat, phone call or email, the duration of the transaction, and lastly the transcript or information exchanged during the conversation. Only the text chat is recorded at this time.

As an expert, do I have to be online all the time?

You don’t have to be online all the time, you set your hours and availability, but we encourage experts to log in every day if possible. The more available you are, the more money you will earn. Members can also book appointments with you if you’re not available at that moment. It is, however, recommended that you login when you’re online so that members can get your expertise without having to wait.

How do I get to my profile?

Login and click on your username at the top right of the page.

Why are there echoes and noises when I video chat?

Flash technology will be updated soon to include echo cancellation. At this point, please use earphones or a headset to eliminate echoes and noises.

It says expert is online, but they aren’t logged in. How is that possible?

It states that the expert is online because they can still be contacted through phone or email. If the expert is logged in, you can speak to them right away.

How do I pay?

After you login, go to the Add Funds page by clicking the link on the top right of the page. Select one of the options to put funds in your account. All payments are secure and through PayPal (credit cards are accepted).

How do I video chat with an expert?

After logging in, click on the “Video Chat” button on the expert profile page and our expert will use a web camera with a microphone to communicate. If they aren’t logged in, the video chat feature is not possible. Please make sure to click on ‘Allow’ when prompted. Please also make sure to use headphones to avoid any echoes. When you enter the chat room, you will be able to see your expert. If you want to hear and speak to your expert, you will need a microphone plugged in and set up on your computer, otherwise, you will have the option of typing your questions to your expert and the expert will be able to type back to you. You can also plug in a webcam and the expert will be able to see you. However, the webcam feature is entirely optional.

What requirements are needed to talk to an Expert via Video Chat?

You will need to have a Flash Player installed on your computer. We recommend that you have a high speed broadband internet connection. You will need speakers in order to hear your expert and a microphone in order to speak back to them. We suggest the use of headphones or a headset for optimal performance. For the expert to see you, you will need a webcam. Please make sure NOT to have Skype or other similar programs running at the same time you're on LiveExperts.tv as that will affect communication.

How do I chat with an expert?

After choosing your expert, click on the chat button, and then start typing. You will need to register/login before you can do this.

How do I Phone an Expert?

After choosing your expert, click on the orange “phone” button on the right hand side and call the number (U.S.A/Canada or International) then enter your PIN Code when prompted.

How do I get in touch with the Expert via Email?

After choosing the expert you wish to email, click on the orange email button on the right hand side, then write the subject of your email and your email message. You may attach images if you wish. The expert should respond within 24 hours. You may also write an e-mail with your questions and ask the experts to give you an estimate about how much any consulting services rendered will be.

How do I receive an email?

When you log in on the top right hand corner, there is a middle button designed for emails. The brackets will show the number of unread emails in your account. When you click on this button it will take you to your email history/log. To see any particular email in detail, click on the subject line. Note the estimate, which is the fee requested by the expert to answer your e-mail. It does not appear in the message itself.

How do I add an expert to favorites?

Login and go to the expert’s profile and click on “Add to Favorites” on the right hand side.

I’m on a VPN, will the video chat work?

Sometimes the video chat will not work if you’re on a restricted VPN or simultaneously using programs like Skype. For best use, please avoid using through your VPN.
